The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is recalling seven tire sizes from one model over fears of tread separation.
The agency says the tires are from ITG Voma Corporation and sold under the brand and model name Capitol Precision Trac II. The affected tire sizes are:
The NHTSA says the tread on the affected tires can separate, which could result in sudden air loss and increase the risk of a crash.
The tires were sold at American Tire Distributors locations across the United States. Owners of the affected tires can go to those locations and have their tires replaced free of charge.
