Another day, another tire recall. This time, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is recalling certain Dynamic Tire Towmax STR tires.
The agency says the affected size is ST225/75 R15. The tires were manufactured between June 15, 2014 and October 14, 2014.
The reason for the recall is that the affected tires may have incorrect information regarding load capacity and inflation pressure stamped onto them. As a result, the NHTSA says the tires do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) 119, “New Pneumatic Tires for Vehicles Other Than Passenger Cars.”
The misinformation could lead to owners overinflating the tires, which can increase the risk of a tire blowout and crash.
The NHTSA says Dynamic Tire Corporation will contact the affected owners and advise them of the recall. Those owners can return to the store where they bought the tires and have them replaced at no charge. Owners with questions can contact Dynamic Tire Corporation’s Customer Service Line at 1-905-595-3593.
